In My Summer Era

It’s the most wonderful time of the year…sweet, sweet summer time! I don’t know about y’all, but this is TRULY one of my favorite times of the year. For me, it always feel like the perfect time to pause, refresh, and relax.

It has been a few months since I have done any blogging, which I hate to admit. As a teacher, sometimes the school year can seem like it overtakes your whole life. My whole purpose of creating this blog was to share my passions with everyone while at the same time giving myself an outlet. This school year had different plans for me. Now that I am officially on summer break, I am taking some time to take care of ME and focus on ME! I cannot wait to share new recipes, travel tips/locations, and more importantly ways you can focus on LIVING TRULY for yourself.

This is not just for the teachers who are needing a good recharge; but I think Summer is the perfect time to refresh yourself, take a pause, and focus on your life. I am going to be sharing a list of how to romanticize your life again this summer. I love plans and lists, so naturally I sat down and started making notes of what I want out of this Summer and ways to really reprioritize myself. I made a list and I am so excited to share it with you all. Maybe you love it all, maybe you make your own list that works for you! Whatever you choose to do, I hope these are some things that can help you out or encourage you to make your own Live Truly Summer List.

My Summer Live Truly List

  1. Eat Fresh-- I am not a believer in strict diets, but filling your body with things your love and that make you feel good. One of my major goals this Summer is to eat fresh. I want to fill my meals with lots of fruits and vegetables, because honestly that is what makes me feel best this time of year and just overall makes me feel the most refreshed.

  2. Skin Care Routine-- I get so busy during the school year that usually my skin care routines lack. Another goal of mine is to make it a point to have a set morning and evening skin care routine. Especially during the Summer, I feel like I don’t wear as much make-up, so for me its the perfect time to reset your skin!

  3. Daily Schedule-- Again, I love a good schedule, but I also like not always having something to do. However, to help keep myself out of cycle of not being productive I am going to be making loose daily schedule for myself. Of course to help keep up with cleaning and cooking, but also to plan things I enjoy doing. Setting aside time to read, work out, go to the pool, or to watch one of my shows. It is all about balance, so I want to make sure I am still taking care of the things I need to, but also allowing myself to have some time to myself.

  4. Deep Clean-- I am so excited to just deep clean our house! When life gets busy, it is really easy to let “chores” around the house fall to the side. Use your down time to really deep clean your house! Sometimes that can seem overwhelming. To help me not feel so overwhelmed, I plan on taking it a room at a time and really devoting time to just one space at a time. You can also use this time to reorganize and get rid of things!

  5. Hot Girl Summer-- Maybe this saying is out now? But I plan on incorporating “hot girl walks” into my mornings. What are “hot girl walks”? By definition, it is a four-mile outdoor walk where you can only think about three things: things you’re grateful for, your goals, and how awesome you are! Will it always be 4 miles? Probably not, but it is a great way to have ME time, catch up on podcast, and get a little bit of a workout in!

  6. Cooking & Baking-- I love to cook and bake! And I really have neglected this part of my life lately. I am so excited to get back into cooking. I cannot wait to make some old favorites and share some new ones as well!

  7. Make Plans With Friends & Family-- Again, this school year kind of consumed me. At the expense of this was losing time with friends and family. My plan this summer is to do all the things! Make the plans for a fun dinner, drinks with friends, shopping outings, ALL the things! Nothing makes me feel better than surrounding me with the people I love and putting in that time is so important.

  8. Do Things For You-- There is no right or wrong thing to add to your Live Truly Summer List. These should be things that bring joy to you and make you feel better about yourself! I encourage us to all make this our Summer Era and live your life truly for YOU and no one else.

I am so excited to dive more into what this blog can become this Summer and to make it a more consistent thing in my life! Stay tuned for all the Summer things!
