New Year, New Adventures

Happy New Year! And hello 2023!

The beginning of the new year is always filled with so much excitement. Whether it is the opportunity for a fresh start, a chance to get yourself more organized (I know that is one of my goals!), or just to simply hope to better yourself…I think we can all agree there is a sense of hope this time of year. Whatever goals or ideas you have for yourself this year, I hope we can all take the time to embrace the things we love and do a little more for YOU.

That is what brings me here. For a huge majority of my life I really had one true passion in life…dance. I grew up dancing competitively, danced in college, and even graduated with a degree in Secondary Dance Education. So naturally I have been teaching dance in public schools for the last 11 years. It continues to be a passion of mine, however, as I entered into my 30’s (and of course a pandemic that challenged everyones mental health in so many ways), I really began leaning into some “new” passions of mine. Of course as a very girly, millennial I have always loved fashion, traveling (who doesn’t love a good vacation??), and just surrounding my home with beautiful things that brought me joy. I began dappling with cooking and baking and have loved getting to share recipes and yummy things with my family and friends. Also, at this time, I began looking at life a little bit differently. I saw such an importance of taking care of myself and the best way I knew how to do that was to embrace the things in life that truly bring me happiness. I would share things on my Instagram (food I had cooked, a cute outfit, etc.), but always with some hesitance and fear of judgement. For years, I have always secretly had the desire and dream to share the things in my life I love on a much bigger scale, but I have always held myself back.

Well, not anymore! It is a new year and I have decided to take that leap and do something for myself in the best way I know how to. I have decided to take the power away from others and embrace my true self. To not live in fear of the judgement of others and to live truly for ME.

Live Truly isn’t just for me. I hope this platform can help us all learn to embrace the things we love the most in life or that just bring us joy, no matter how big or how small those things might be. Life is too short to not embrace the things we are passionate about. I am excited to share ALL the beautiful things and begin this new journey with you all. Whether you are here for some fun recipes, outfit ideas, or just stumble across this blog…I hope in this new year we can celebrate together and start to live truly. CHEERS!
