Trader Joe’s Haul
Trader Joe’s is probably one of my all time favorite places. Now that we live in the burbs, we don’t live as close to a TJ’s as we used to, so I usually have to make planned trips to stock up on some of my favorite items or check out any new things. So here are a few things I got on my last trip as well as some of my favorites that I always have to get!
Frozen Items
In my opinion, Trader Joe’s has the best frozen food selection. Not only is everything super delicious, but you can find so many fun items to try and even a few staples that are a MUST!
Mac & Cheese- TJ’s has the best mac & cheese and the Hatch Green Chile Mac & Cheese is one of my all time favorites. If you like a little bit of spice this item is perfect. Another one of my favorites is a fall seasonal item, the Butternut Squash Mac & Cheese. I wish they had it all year round, so once fall starts approaching make sure you try this out!
Appetizers- Having some appetizers on hand is always a smart idea, but especially frozen ones. You can stock up and keep them in the freezer that way next time you have an unexpected guest or just need some quick and easy party food, you will have plenty of options on hand! One of my all time favorites to have on hand are the Pastry Bites Feta Cheese & Caramelized Onions. Another fun and easy snack to pop in the oven or air fryer are the mini Spizzico di Pizza bites.
Desserts- Popsicles are the best summer treat! This time I tried out the Blueberry Dream Frozen Dessert Bars. I love all things blueberry, so this was a no brainer. Another one of my favorites that I didn’t see this time are the Strawberry Greek Yogurt Parfait Bars.
Cheeses
Trader Joe’s is always my go to place when making a charcuterie board. They have by far the best selection for great prices! My go to cheese that I have to get every time is the Unexpected Cheddar Cheese. It is a crumbly, white cheddar cheese. It has the best flavor and I always get asked about it. This time I got just the regular Chevre Goat Cheese for a specific recipe [check out my post about the Goat Cheese Balls ]. My favorite go to goat cheese from TJ’s is the Blueberry Vanilla Chevre Goat Cheese [during the holidays they have a cranberry one as well!]. A new cheese I tried out this time and loved was the Chive Cheddar Cheese. It has such great flavor and is perfect for you next charcuterie board.
Snacks
Snacks are usually what we stock up on the most at Trader Joe’s. They have a great variety of nuts, crackers, chips, etc. and all for great prices!
Nuts- Whether you are building the ultimate charcuterie board or need snacks for the week, these options are my must haves. If you love Pistachios there are so many flavor options available. My favorite [and my husbands] are the Salt and Pepper Pistachios. If you are looking for a sweet snack option, the Sweet and Spicy Pecans are a great treat with a little bit of spice! My favorite mixed nuts are the Everything But Bagel Nut Duo. These are a mix of almonds and cashews coated in the infamous Everything But Bagel seasoning. So yummy!
Bars- I always love to have some sort of granola or date bar in our pantry for an easy quick snack. The yummiest ones in my opinion are the This Coconut Brings Chocolate on a DATE Bars.
Granola- I love having dry granola to eat by itself or as a cereal. If you love coconut, the Organic Toasted Coconut Granola is so good! Another one of my favorites is the Almond Butter Granola.
Other Staples- These aren’t specific to Trader Joe’s, but not every grocery store carries them, but the Chomps Jalapeno Beef Stick are a great low carb snack. I also grabbed the Milk Chocolate Covered Mini Pretzels which are a great sweet snack [they also have other flavors…dark chocolate, strawberry, and other seasonal flavors throughout the year]. This last item doesn’t really fall into the “Snack” category, but this was a new item we tried and we have decided this will be a staple in our pantry! The Spicy Honey Sauce is so good! It is great to serve with cheeses, on pizza to elevate it, etc.
